Negotiations between Israel and Hamas have commenced to discuss the next phase of the ceasefire in Gaza, Egyptian officials confirmed. The talks, facilitated by Egypt, aim to extend the truce and address key concerns, including humanitarian aid, prisoner exchanges, and security arrangements.

Egypt, along with Qatar and the United States, has been actively mediating to establish a long-term ceasefire and prevent further escalation in the region. The discussions follow the recent temporary truce, during which hostages were exchanged, and humanitarian relief reached the besieged Palestinian enclave.

Officials familiar with the matter stated that while both sides have expressed willingness to continue negotiations, significant challenges remain. Hamas demands an end to Israeli military operations, while Israel insists on guarantees to prevent future attacks.

The international community continues to push for a diplomatic resolution, emphasizing the urgent need for lasting peace and stability in the region. Further updates on the negotiations are expected in the coming days.
