BSP chief Mayawati has strongly condemned the Uttar Pradesh government’s decision to enforce a ban on loudspeakers during Ramzan, calling it unfair and discriminatory. She accused the BJP-led state administration of targeting religious practices and creating unnecessary controversy.
In a statement, Mayawati highlighted that such restrictions are not imposed during other religious events and questioned the selective enforcement of rules. She urged the government to ensure fairness in its policies and respect the religious sentiments of all communities.
The issue has sparked debate, with opposition parties and religious leaders demanding a reconsideration of the directive. Meanwhile, the state government has defended its decision, citing noise pollution regulations.
