New Delhi: The Waqf Amendment Bill, which has sparked controversy and widespread protests, is set to be presented in the Rajya Sabha today after receiving approval from the Lok Sabha. The bill proposes significant changes to the regulation and management of Waqf properties, a move that has been met with strong resistance from opposition parties and minority groups.
The government argues that the amendments aim to bring transparency, prevent corruption, and streamline Waqf administration.
