LPG Cylinder Price Hiked by ₹50, Consumers to Pay More from April

LPG Cylinder Price Hiked by ₹50, Consumers to Pay More from April - Citizen News Daily

In a fresh blow to household budgets, the price of domestic cooking gas (LPG) cylinders has been increased by ₹50 per unit, effective immediately. The hike comes amidst rising global fuel prices and adjustments in subsidy policies.

With the latest revision, a standard 14.2 kg LPG cylinder will now cost around ₹1,100 in Delhi and may vary slightly depending on the state due to different local taxes.

Officials from oil marketing companies confirmed the price change, stating that the increase is part of a routine monthly pricing review. This is the first hike in LPG prices for domestic consumers in the current financial year.

The move has triggered concerns among middle-class and low-income families already grappling with inflation and increasing costs of essentials. Opposition parties have also criticized the government, calling the price hike “anti-people” and demanding immediate rollback.

Meanwhile, the price of commercial LPG cylinders, used by hotels and restaurants, was not changed in this round of revisions.

Consumers are advised to check updated prices with their local distributors.
